Singing News, SingingNewsTV, and Singing News Radio has launched the 2022 Songwriters Search contest. For upcoming songwriters who have ever wanted the chance to have their original songs recorded by a national recording artist, that opportunity Is now!

 

The 2022 Singing News Songwriters’ Search invites all non-professional* songwriters to submit your original songs! *Non-professional songwriter is defined as one who has never had an original song on the Singing News Top 40 chart; and one who is not currently under an exclusive publishing contract.

 

FIVE winners will be chosen!

All five winners will be invited to appear on a TV special, hosted by Dave Clark, at a legendary venue in Nashville, TN.

 

1 (ONE) Grand Prize winner will receive:

• A one-song publishing deal with Crossroads Music Publishing.

• Winning song will be recorded by a recording artist on the Sonlite or Horizon record labels.

• A 2-night stay (1 room/4 people) in Pigeon Forge, TN on Thursday and Friday nights (September 29-30, 2022) of the National Quartet Convention.

• Special recognition during the 2022 Singing News Fan Awards ceremony (held on September 30, 2022.)

• Dave Clark’s Songwriting Course (a $400 value)

• Winning song and songwriter will be included in a feature story in Singing News Magazine about the contest winners.

• Story, photo, and song will be posted on www.SingingNews.com.

• A one-year paid subscription (or a one-year extension) to Singing News.

• Lodging and tuition for the Charles Novell School of Music scholarship, held July 10-16, 2022.

 

1 (ONE) 2nd Place winner will receive:

• A one-song publishing deal of the 2nd place-winning song with Crossroads Music Publishing.

• 2nd place-winning song and songwriter will be included in a feature story in Singing News Magazine about the contest winners.

• Story, photo, and song will be posted on www.SingingNews.com.

• A one-year paid subscription (or a one-year extension) to Singing News.

 

3 (THREE) Runners-Up winners will receive:

• Runners-up winning songs and songwriters will be included in a feature story in Singing News Magazine about the contest winners.

• Story, photo, and song will be posted on www.SingingNews.com.

• A one-year paid subscription (or a one-year extension) to Singing News.

 

How to enter:

For each song submitted, send your entry fee, a completed entry form, lyric sheet, and an audio recording of the song to:

Cost to enter is $68 per entry. However, participants can receive an “Early Bird Discount” of $48 per entry if they submit their songs by April 1, 2022.

The final deadline to receive entries is May 31, 2022. Entries postmarked after May 31, 2022, will be returned.

 

Judges for the 2022 contest include Ivan Parker, Karen Peck Gooch, Rodney Griffin, Josh Singletary, Greg Bentley, Jeff Collins, Roger Talley, Paul Secord, Kenna Turner West, and Scott Godsey.
