Winners Of The 2022 Singing News Songwriters Search Announced

Nashville, Tennessee (July 15, 2022)
The winners of the 2022 Singing News Songwriters Search have been announced.

Out of 421 song entries, 5 (five) winning songs were chosen by 10 (ten) judges, which included Ivan Parker, Karen Peck Gooch, Rodney Griffin, Josh Singletary, Greg Bentley, Jeff Collins, Roger Talley, Paul Secord, Kenna Turner West, and Scott Godsey.

Singing News, SingingNewsTV, and Singing News Radio, in partnership with Crossroads Music, launched the 2022 Songwriters Search contest on February 1, 2022. The contest ran until May 31, 2022.

All 5 (five) of the following winners will be invited to appear on a TV special, hosted by Dave Clark, at a legendary venue in Nashville, Tennessee, in August of 2022.

The winning songs in the 2022 contest are:

Grand Prize-Winning Song:
“This One Is for Them”

2nd Place Winning Song:
“What The Good News Is All About”
Written by Stephen Holman (Kansas City, Missouri)

3 Runners-Up Winning Songs:
“Kneel”
Written by Elizabeth Zornes Mintus (Middletown, Ohio)

“Running To The Roar”
Written by Shona Bright (Boaz, Alabama)

“Until You Are The One”
Written by Shirley Nagel (Stillwater, Minnesota)

The Grand Prize Winner will receive:
• A one-song publishing deal with Crossroads Music Publishing.
• Winning song will be recorded by a recording artist on the Sonlite or Horizon record labels.
• A 2-night stay (1 room/4 people) in Pigeon Forge, TN on Thursday and Friday nights (September 29-30, 2022) of the National Quartet Convention.
• Special recognition during the 2022 Singing News Fan Awards ceremony (held on September 30, 2022.)
• Dave Clark’s Songwriting Course (a $400 value)
• Winning song and songwriter will be included in a feature story in Singing News Magazine about the contest winners.
• Story, photo, and song will be posted on www.SingingNews.com.
• A one-year paid subscription (or a one-year extension) to Singing News.
• Scholarship which includes lodging and tuition for the next Charles Novell School of Music
The 2nd Place Winner will receive:
• A one-song publishing deal of the 2nd place-winning song with Crossroads Music Publishing.
• 2nd place-winning song and songwriter will be included in a feature story in Singing News Magazine about the contest winners.
• Story, photo, and song will be posted on www.SingingNews.com.
• A one-year paid subscription (or a one-year extension) to Singing News.

All 3 (THREE) Runners-Up Winners will receive:
• Inclusion in a feature story in Singing News Magazine about the contest winners.
• Story, photo, and song will be posted on www.SingingNews.com.
• A one-year paid subscription (or a one-year extension) to Singing News.
