Ingredients
  • 2 ¼ cups self- rising flour
  • 1 stick butter
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions Preheat oven to 350°.  Combine and blend together all ingredients in a large mixing bowl.  Keep hands floured, and form a large ball of dough.  Pinch off walnut-sized pieces of dough, and space 1-inch apart on greased cookie sheet.  Press down with fork or spatula, and sprinkle with sugar if desired.
