Rosa Nell Speer Powell, age 94 of Winchester, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Southern Tennessee Regional Medical Center. She was born in Double Springs, Alabama on September 21, 1922 to the late George Thomas and Lena Darling Brock Speer. Mrs. Powell was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Nashville.
Rosa Nell Speer Powell passed away this morning at the age of 94. The last of the Speer siblings, Rosa Nell was preceded in death by her parents, Mom and Dad Speer, and brothers Brock and Ben, and sister Mary Tom Speer Reid.
Ben was a part of The Speer Family for more than six decades. Even after “retiring” Ben continued work in Southern Gospel music producing records and as the music director for the popular Gaither Homecoming video series.
On Monday, April 3, 2017 we lost a man known by many in the Southern Gospel music industry. Frank Treece, age 85, passed away suddenly as a result of a brain aneurysm and received his heavenly reward.
