Shreveport, LA (Jan. 31, 2018) — Tom Rainer, who sang lead for several quartets, including the Homeland Harmony Quartet, passed away on Jan. 15, 2018 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Tom was born in Akron, Ohio. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. His professional gospel singing career began when he was only 17. He sang lead with both the Deep South Quartet and the Homeland Harmony Quartet, and was known at the time as an exceptional lead singer. Tom eventually went into the financial and banking business, retiring from Hibernia Bank in 2000. Rainer was 82.
