Singing News Radio Network Receives Dove Award

Nashville, TN (October 17, 2018) — The Singing News Radio Network received the 2018 Radio Impact Award at the 49th Annual Dove Awards ceremonies, held at Allen Arena, on the campus of Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, on Tuesday, October 16, 2018.  The Award was presented to Singing News Radio Network “for its’ outstanding contribution to Southern Gospel music.”

Singing News Radio is a part of the Singing News brand, which includes the radio network, as well as a monthly magazine, Singing News, which is the “printed voice of Southern Gospel Music.”

Greg Goodman, program director for Singing News Radio, accepted the Award on behalf of the Singing News team, stating, ““We are so humbled and honored to receive this award. Every day we go about the business of producing radio that engages our listeners. This validation from the members of the Gospel Music Association lets us know we are also serving the Southern Gospel music industry well. This is the 49th Annual Dove Awards, and the 49th year of the Singing News brand! Singing News Radio is proud to be a part of that heritage and to be a part of the the future of Southern Gospel music! ”

Kevin Anderson, general manager of Salem Media Group’s Nashville operation, which includes Singing News Magazine  and Singing News Radio, states, “I am personally grateful to the GMA for recognizing Greg’s team for their amazing work.  They truly do seek to super-serve our affiliates, our industry, and most importantly, our listeners. The way they go about this on a daily basis honors the Lord and offers an example for us all.”

Singing News Radio programming and “on-air” staff includes Gregg Hutchins (M-F 5am – 10am), Greg Goodman (M-F 10am – 2pm), Wayne Haun (M-F 2pm – 6pm), and Troy Peach (M-F 7pm – midnight).

Weekend programming includes The Singing News Top 20 Weekly Countdown with Rodney Baucom, Bill Gaither’s Homecoming Radio and Front Porch Fellowship with Joe Mullins, along with shows by Jayme Summers and Paul Gibson. Singing News Magazine Publisher, Danny Jones, also has a show on Sunday evenings from 6pm – midnight.
