The Perrys Announce Departure of Dayton Gay and Welcome Joseph Reed as New Lead Vocalist
Hendersonville, TN – December 23, 2025 – The Perrys have announced that lead vocalist Dayton Gay will depart the group to pursue new opportunities. The Perrys are excited to introduce Joseph Reed as their new lead vocalist, marking a fresh chapter in their storied ministry.
Libbi Perry Stuffle shared, “As the Scriptures remind us in Ecclesiastes 3:1, ‘To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.’ We extend our deepest gratitude and heartfelt wishes to Dayton, Katie, and Seth as they step into this new chapter, and we pray God’s richest blessings upon them.”
The Perrys are delighted to welcome Joseph Reed as their new lead vocalist. “Joseph has spent decades in gospel music. He has an anointed voice and heartfelt dedication to Southern Gospel music,” said Libbi Perry Stuffle. “He has filled in for us on several occasions in the past, and we are thrilled to officially embrace him as part of The Perrys, knowing that his contributions will inspire audiences and further our calling to share the good news of Jesus Christ.”
Joseph Reed expressed his enthusiasm: “I am deeply honored to join The Perrys, one of the legendary Southern Gospel groups that helped shaped my lifelong passion for this music. Libbi, Jared and Jason are friends and have such true hearts for ministry. I’m looking forward to singing some of the hits that have made a lasting impact on my life. I will continue as the General Manager of Singing News Radio and turn the music programming over to a committee selected by Singing News.”
Reed’s debut performance with The Perrys will take place on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2025, in Frenchburg, Kentucky, ushering in the new year with renewed energy and timeless messages of hope.
