Candler, NC (January 21, 2019) — Paul B. Fox of Candler, North Carolina, went to be with the Lord Sunday, January 20, 2019. He was 84.

Mr. Fox was the father of Randy Fox, longtime member of the Primitive Quartet. This is part of a statement posted Jan. 21 on Facebook by Randy:

It is with sadness but also with joy that I am announcing the death of my Father, Paul B. Fox. We’re sad because separation has come but we have joy in knowing Dad is not sick anymore and is in the presence of Jesus. Dad went home yesterday Jan. 20th. He was 84. He loved to play and sing Gospel music and wrote many Gospel songs, several which were recorded by The Primitive Quartet. Please pray for my Mother and all of our family. God’s grace is amazing and is always there exactly when you need it. Love you all, Randy

Paul Fox is survived by his wife of nearly 67 years, Dessie Hildred Fox, along with three sons and their wives, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation and a celebration service were held at Freedom Baptist Church in Richmond, Indiana, and Mr. Fox’s funeral arrangements were handled by the Sproles Family Funeral Home in New Castle, Indiana. His obituary may be viewed here.

Prayers are appreciated for the family during this time of loss.
