Ellender Smith LeFevre (Nov. 2, 1920 – Sept. 5, 2020)
Better known as Ellie, Ellender Smith LeFevre was born in Montgomery, Alabama, to William Plummer Smith and Minnie Stroup Smith. Ellie grew up in Montgomery, Chattanooga, Panama City Beach and Atlanta. She was a graduate of Commercial High School in Atlanta and immediately went to work for Gulf Oil and then later at the First National Bank of Georgia.

In 1940 she met her future husband, Alphus LeFevre, of the Gospel singing group, The LeFevres. Ellie and Alf married on June 9, 1950. Ellie was preceded in death by her parents and husband Alf, who died in 1988, and her great grandson Elijah Reed Crossland. Ellie is survived by her two children, five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will host a Celebration of Life on Nov. 8th at The Warehouse at Greater Heights 3790 Post Road, Cumming, Georgia, at 3 p.m.
