Kentucky Senate and House of Representatives Declares Southern Gospel Music Week

Frankfort, KY (November 15, 2018) –During The Sneed Family’s annual Homecoming event in mid-November, the Kentucky Senate and House issued a citation declaring the week Southern Gospel Music week in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

The citation was presented to The Sneed Family at the Cave City Convention Center in Cave City, Kentucky. Rep. Steve Riley of the 23rd District representing Barren and parts of Warren County made the presentation on behalf of himself and Sen. David Givens, Senate District 9.

Southern Gospel Week was commemorated to raise awareness of the heritage and deep roots Southern Gospel music has embedded in the hearts of the area’s citizens. The citation reads, “The message of hope and salvation this music brings has influenced the lives of many with great joy and has inspired people with the encouragement needed to handle the trials that life presents each one of us.”
