Gold City Welcomes Back Lead Vocalist Staff January 28, 2020 Pictured above: Bruce Taliaferro (left) and Scott Brand Gadsden, AL (Jan. 28, 2020) — Danny Riley of Gold City is pleased to share the news that Bruce Taliaferro will once again be standing behind the lead microphone for the award-winning gospel quartet. The return, for Bruce, means he will be stepping back into the role he last filled in 2010. His first date with Gold City is tentatively set for February 21, 2020, and he fills the position previously held by Scott Brand. Danny says, “Bruce and I have been friends since we were teenagers. We had always dreamed of singing together and we realized that dream. I was so disappointed when he had to leave the road, but hoped that we would get the opportunity again. When this position opened up, his was the first number I called. I’m so grateful that God has allowed him to come back. We literally grew up with Gold City and share the same passion to see this ministry carry on. Those who remember Bruce from when he was with us from 2008 to 2010 will recall him as a powerhouse vocalist. That has not changed. I’m excited about the opportunity to again be singing with my longtime friend and to see how God is going to use him and all of Gold City in this new season.” Bruce says, “I’m very excited to once again be singing. When I left the road in 2010, I thought I was completely done. So, this is an unexpected opportunity, but one I’m very excited about. I’m amazed at the doors that opened and closed for me to come back to Gold City, and I’m humbled that God would once again allow me to do something I love so much.” Departing vocalist Scott Brand joined Gold City back in 2016 and was quickly embraced by gospel music for his commanding lead vocals. As he exits Gold City, he does so with the blessing of the rest of the group. Danny says, “We appreciate Scott and his contributions to Gold City the past three-and-a-half years. We wish him, his wife Caitlin, and their daughter Brelynn all the best in the future as they continue to follow the will of God for their lives. ” Gold City is currently celebrating their 40th year in gospel music and will be headed to the studio this spring to begin work on a new recording. This will be the follow-up to their highly acclaimed Hope For The Journey project. Their upcoming single is “Those Same Hands,” slated to be sent to radio in February 2020.
