Corryton, TN (Nov. 4, 2019) — Singing News has learned that William Dallas Chandler, 82, passed away Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019.

A resident of Knoxville, Tennessee, he was part of the Corryton, Tennessee-based family group known as The Chandlers. They toured throughout the 1980s and ’90s while recording for the Eddie Crook Company. The group enjoyed considerable radio success with such songs as “Walking Back Down,” “Salt of the Earth,” “This Man Jesus,” and “I’m Not Getting Older, Just Closer to Home.”

Mr. Chandler is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Lenore Chandler, their daughter and son-in-law, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one sister, and a host of other family and friends. 

Mr. Chandler’s family has shared the following funeral arrangements:
The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday November 5, 2019, at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel, 1421 N. Broadway, Knoxville, TN, 37917. A funeral service will follow at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Vittatoe and Rev. Damon Patterson officiating. The family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday November 6, 2019, at Fairview Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. interment service.
