Pigeon Forge, TN (Jan. 3, 2018) — Arthur Rice is no stranger to fans of Southern Gospel music. His career spans decades of singing with groups such as Squire Parsons and Reedemed, The Kingsmen, and The Kingdom Heirs. Arthur serves as president of The Southern Gospel Music Association (SGMA) which is located in Dollywood at The Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
In an effort to raise funds for The SGMA, Arthur requested that his friends and fans donate to The SGMA in place of gifts to himself on his birthday on Dec. 27, 2017. Arthur used a program on Facebook designed for individuals to highlight a nonprofit that is near to their heart to benefit from their birthdays. Last year, John Rulapaugh, of Freedom Quartet did that same fundraiser and raised a similar amount.
“It comes as no surprise to me that Arthur would take this opportunity to help the SGMA. He volunteers each day to help the museum run and stay on track. Fundraising is a constant effort to keep the SGMA current and running day to day. Arthur’s efforts are greatly appreciated!” (JP Miller, SGMA spokesperson)
Arthur Rice resides in Sevierville, Tennessee with his wife, Tammy. They are active members of Sevierville First Baptist Church where Arthur is a deacon and Tammy serves as Preschool Director for Children’s Ministry. Arthur is the lead singer for the Kingdom Heirs and is one of the most popular male voices in our industry. In addition to all of these activities, Arthur owns and runs his own studio and produces vocals for several artists. For more information on the SGMA, you can visit their website at www.sgma.org.
