Anthem Edition Turns Up the Energy with “Something’s Going On ‘Round Here”

After the stately, reverential “In Christ Alone,” Southern Gospel favorites Anthem Edition are dialing up the energy with their latest Sonlite Records single, “Something’s Going On ‘Round Here.”

“Something’s going on… can you feel it in the air?” asks the group’s Tim Rackley, echoing the song’s thematic center. “From Galilee to every heart, His love is moving everywhere. The Man from Galilee is still changing lives — this is more than a song, it’s a stirring of His presence.”

From its opening guitar lick, “Something’s Going On ‘Round Here” leans heavily into country flavors, including resonator guitar and fiddle from legendary studio musician David Johnson, keeping the energy level high as the vocal lead passes from voice to voice across the song’s three taut verses.

Written by a trio of Gospel hitmakers — Kenna Turner West, Jason Cox, and Belinda Smith — “Something’s Going On ‘Round Here” masterfully captures the excitement that surrounded Jesus’ ministry, bringing that sense of anticipation and wonder forward through the centuries and giving listeners a thrilling glimpse of what it may have felt like to witness those moments firsthand.
