Ron Martin Passes Away

Singing News has learned of the passing of Ron Martin of Morristown, Tennessee. Ron was a powerful lead singer, who sang with the Sentinels, the Dumplin’ Valley Boys, and The Rowlands. He was also the brother of songwriter, Kyla Rowland. Ron Martin passed away on February 18, 2026, at the age of 83. Gerald Wolfe shares, “Ron Martin’s impact on the lives of countless people will continue for generations to come through his music recordings, his teaching, and those who were privileged to know him as a friend. He was the most powerful lead singer I’ve ever heard, arguably the most well-studied Bible teacher I ever knew, and the man who called me in 1981 to ask if I’d be interested in playing piano for the Dumplin’ Valley Boys. I am forever grateful to have had the opportunity to know him.”
