Lima, OH (March 2, 2020) — WTGN Radio, 97.7 FM in Lima, Ohio, is pleased to announce that March 2nd, 2020 marks 35 years of broadcasting for the station’s Country Faith program, hosted by Scott Young.

Country Faith features Southern Gospel music and airs on Saturday mornings at 7 a.m. and Sunday evenings at 5:30 p.m. The program debuted on March 2nd, 1985, when Ronald Reagan was president, a gallon of gas averaged $1.20, and The Singing Americans had the number one Southern Gospel song in the country with “I Bowed on My Knees and Cried Holy.” Other familiar names on the charts were The Cathedrals, The McKameys, and the Gold City Quartet.

Over the years, the top musical groups and songs have changed, but one aspect of the program has remained constant—WTGN General Manager Scott Young has hosted Country Faith from the beginning. Scott considers hosting the program to be one of the many great privileges that he’s had since he joined the WTGN family in October 1978. WTGN Radio and Scott Young are grateful to the listeners of Country Faith for their dedicated support over the past 35 years.
